What age range is the workshop most suited to?
The workshop is designed with babies aged 0-7 months in mind, especially since a large component focuses on starting solids. However, if you have little ones beyond this age, I can customise the workshop to suit your needs.
How long does the workshop run for?
Full First Aid workshops typically goes for 3 to 3.5 hours, with a 10 minute break halfway through. There is ample time for skill practice, engaging conversation and questions. The First Aid Refresher workshop will run for approximately 90 minutes with time for questions at the end.
What topics are covered in a workshop?
Some of the topics that are covered: - Parental instincts - How to identify an unwell child - DRSABCD: Baby & Child CPR demonstration and practice. - Choking, gagging and solids safety - Allergic reactions & anaphylaxis - Breathing conditions and concerns - Rashes including meningococcal (what's concerning and what is not). - Fevers & febrile convulsions - Burns, fractures and controlling bleeding. - Where to get help when it isn't an emergency. - General tips and tricks from a Mum and Paramedic
Who organises the location of a workshop?
You get to choose the location! Whether it's your home or another comfortable setting, you’re in charge of organising the space that works best for your group.
