What's Covered?
This workshop is designed for those who have previously completed a first aid course and feel confident managing common illness and injury, but want a practical refresher on the lifesaving skills. We’ll cover how to recognise when a child is seriously unwell, how to perform effective CPR, how to safely introduce solids, and how to respond to choking. The session includes plenty of hands-on practice and time for questions. Suitable for groups of up to 12 people — for larger groups, please get in touch.

What age range is the workshop most suited to?
The workshop is designed with babies aged 0-7 months in mind, especially since a large component focuses on starting solids. However, if you have little ones beyond this age, I can customise the workshop to suit your needs.
How long does the workshop run for?
The workshops typically goes for for 3 to 3.5 hours, with a 10 minute break halfway through. There is ample time for skill practice, engaging conversation and questions.
What topics are covered in a workshop?
Some of the topics that are covered: - Parental instincts - How to identify an unwell child - DRSABCD: Baby & Child CPR demonstration and practice. - Choking, gagging and solids safety - Allergic reactions & anaphylaxis - Breathing conditions and concerns - Rashes including meningococcal (what's concerning and what is not). - Fevers & febrile convulsions - Burns, fractures and controlling bleeding. - Where to get help when it isn't an emergency. - General tips and tricks from a Mum and Paramedic The First Aid Refresh workshop is a shorter, more concise workshop covering: -Recognising the signs of a very unwell child (red flags) -CPR demonstration and practice -Solids safety, gagging and choking first aid
